Applications open for 2026 Public Safety Academy
January 20 2026AUBURN, Ala. – Applications for the 2026 Public Safety Academy are now open at auburnalabama.org/academies.
The Public Safety Academy, formerly the Citizens’ Police Academy, is designed to allow the citizens of Auburn the opportunity to gain a behind-the-scenes look at the emergency services available within their community. As a result, residents can expect to leave the academy with a better understanding of and relationship with Auburn Public Safety. Members of the Auburn community who are 19 years of age or older are encouraged to apply.
The academy consists of 10 sessions spread over nine weeks. Sessions will include presentations from various department leaders highlighting topics such as gun safety, CPR and investigations. The academy will conclude with a graduation ceremony where members will be able to celebrate and reflect upon their achievements.
The dates for the 2026 Public Safety Academy are as follows:
March 5, 6-8:30 p.m.
March 19, 6-8:30 p.m.
March 26, 6-8:30 p.m.
March 28, 9-12 p.m.
April 2, 6-8:30 p.m.
April 9, 6-8:30 p.m.
April 16, 6-8:30 p.m.
April 23, 9-12 p.m.
April 25, 6-8:30 p.m.
April 30, 6-7:30 p.m.
